Captain Helio Armando Garcia III

"Helio was not only my husband—he was the love of my life and the steady heart of our family. He was a devoted father who loved his children-Angelina Rosa Pittman, Nicolas Anthony Garcia, Isabella Echeverri, and our late son, Giovanni Armando Garcia-with all of his heart. He also shared a special bond with our son-in-law, Jacob Pittman.

Helio lived his life with integrity, strength, and an infectious kindness that touched everyone he met. Our hearts are broken by this loss, but we find comfort in the love he gave us and the memories we will carry with us forever. His legacy lives on in each of us.

Lt. Garcia had been with the South Fulton Police Department since its early days. He was one of the original officers who helped build the department when it started in 2018.

Helio is lovingly survived by his wife, Eliana Garcia, his children-Angelina Rosa Pittman, Nicolas Anthony Garcia, and Isabella Echeverri, his parents Helio Armando Garcia Jr., and Ana Garcia, his brothers, William Anthony Garcia, and Jonathan Andrew Garcia, as well as many brothers and sisters in law enforcement.

Helio has been reunited with his son, Giovanni Armando Garcia, in Heaven.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at World Changers Church International, 2500 Burdett Road, College Park, Georgia, 30349. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 21, 2025 at 1:00pm at World Changers Church International, 2500 Burdett Road, College Park, Georgia, 30349.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida. Captain Garcia will be laid to rest with his son on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South, 11655 SW 117TH Avenue, Miami, Florida.
