She was born in Portland, Michigan on May 6, 1941 to Henry and Hilda (Osman) Kenyon.
Norma was a graduate of Portland High School, class of 1959. She retired from the State of Michigan, Aeronautics Department in 2001. She was married to Charles "Gene" Dietz of Williamston on April 10, 1982. They enjoyed many happy years together at their farm in Williamston and over the years they traveled quite a bit either by car, bus, plane, or train. They went to Boston, Colorado, California, Arizona, Virginia, Florida ... they were always ready for an adventure.
In addition to travel, Norma enjoyed playing her piano and hammer dulcimer, reading or doing jigsaw, Sudoku or word search puzzles.
Norma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Williamston for many, many years.
Norma was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Normington; her parents; her sister, Sharon Kenyon Butts; her brother-in-law, Reg Butts; her brother, Max Kenyon; daughter-in-law, Lori Normington; nephew, Brad Kenyon; as well as her in-laws, Charles and Beth Dietz; and sister-in-law, Sharon Dietz.
She is survived by her husband, Charles "Gene" Dietz; her children, Jeffery Normington and Tammy (Normington) Rooker (Don); grandchildren, Ben (Laura) Normington and Darcy (Normington) Beach (Michael). Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Allison, Brooklynn, Madison and Abigail Normington and Jayden, Harper and Avner Beach; her brother, Larry (Connie) Kenyon; as well as her brother-in-law, Ron Dietz; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann (Dietz) Martin (Dave); and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Norma will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at First Baptist Church Williamston, 3185 N Williamston Rd., Williamston, MI 48895, Pastor Chuk Pierport presiding. Following the service, Norma will be laid to rest at Alchin Farm Cemetery, 4585 Van Orden Rd., Webberville, Michigan 48892.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jeff Normington, Don Rooker, Ben Normington, Mike Beach, Neil Butts, and Tim Dietz.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Norma's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association Michigan Chapter, 25200 Telegraph Rd. #100, Southfield, MI 48033; and Sparrow Hospice, 1210 W Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48915.
